Rome Floyd Humane Society Fact Sheet
The Rome Floyd Humane Society was reactivated in the fall of 1995. We are an all volunteer, community based, non-profit organization. All monetary contributions are tax deductible.
We are working with local veterinarians and with funding assistance programs to try to provide low-cost spay and neuter.
Animal Control adopted out 563 animals in 1997 compared to 234 in 1996, due largely to the efforts of the Rome Floyd Humane Society.
We are working with the Pet Connection, DogPak Rescue and other groups in the community to match up lost pets with original or new owners. We have a telephone hot line and a web site. Our web site alone took over 1,000 hits in the first few months of operation.
We are working in conjunction with Animal Control to teach children and their parents about responsible pet ownership.
